Members of the Roscommon Hospital Action Committee have raised concerns over the effects the new regional health board system will have on HSE staff.
Yesterday the cabinet approved a major restructuring of the HSE which would see the establishment of six health boards operating in place of the Executive.
It’s hoped that the new system will give more power and autonomy to local health services. Each area will receive a budget in proportion to its’ population.
Roscommon Councillor and member of the Roscommon Action committee, Valerie Byrne, has welcomed the change but questions what will happen to HSE managers following the restructure:
