One of the Shannonside Northern Sound region’s best known traditional musicians will be the subject a programme on TG4 tonight.
The life and career of Roscommon flute player Patsy Hanly will feature on Sé mo Laoch, which celebrates the musicianship and creativity of some of Ireland’s most well known and respected performers.
Patsy has pioneered a local North Connaught style in the instrument and has been a hugely important influence on a generation of flute players.
Guests such as John Carty, John Wynne, Rachel McGarvey and Angelina Carberry will all pay tribute to the Patsy.
Sé Mo Laoch begins at half past nine this evening.
