Roscommon County Council has launched a new strategy to try and attract emigrants back to the county.
The local authority is hoping that people with links to the county, either directly or through family, can develop new relationships in Roscommon via digital connections, or by investing time, money or experience in an area they are close to.
The Minister for Finance Paschal Donohue launched the initiative today, with a focus on emigrants pre and post the year 2000, as well as what are described as east coast diaspora and the affinity diaspora.
The Roscommonbound.ie website was also launched this afternoon, and a special ‘Roscommon Day’ will be celebrated on June 21st next year.
