Roscommon businessman says stolen goods are easily sold on

A Roscommon businessman says that farmers who might buy gates which have been stolen at a cheap price, could be practising a false economy.

Eddie Naughton had 40 farm gates stolen from the compound of his premises on a Saturday night earlier this month.

He says no one has come forward to try to claim a reward he offered for information, and while garda investigations are ongoing he isn’t overly hopeful of getting the gates back.

Speaking on Let’s Talk today, Eddie Naughton says farmers can get grants and claim money back for this kind of equipment.

He says tool thefts, and thefts similar to the one at his premises this month are happening because there is an easy market for the goods.
