Roscommon Beef Plan Movement say threats of legal action are “tactics”

Threats of an injunction on farmers protesting outside meat factories is nothing but a tactic according to Connell Tiernan.

His comments come hours after Meat Industry Ireland threaten legal action on people participating in Beef Plan Movement demonstrations across the country.

MII has alleged that “serious intimidation and outright illegality” is occurring at the picket lines.

Members of the beef plan movement have said they’ve been extremely careful during their protests and have not broken a regulation yet.

Farmers and supporters outside the Kepak processing factoring in Athleague wore high-vis jackets, there were people in place controlling traffic and a large overhead light was in operation last night.

Connell Tiernan says it’s “rogue lorry drivers” who are breaking regulations and not protesting farmers.
