Rooskey residents hopeful Shannon Key West Hotel will re-open

A spokesperson for the Rooskey residents association believes everyone in the area will be supportive of an application for a liquor license at the Shannon Key West Hotel.

It’s being reported locally that the owner of the hotel, which was bought for approximately €400,000 in 2012, is to apply for a seven-day bar licence at the next sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon Circuit Court in July.

Locals in the area have been expressing their hope that the hotel, which was once a popular venue for music and weddings, could be set to reopen later this year.

Margaret Nugent, the secretary of the village residnets’ association, is hopeful everything will run smoothly:
