Pupils asked not to attend St Nathy’s due to unforseen circumstances

Hundreds of pupils at St Nathy’s College in Ballaghaderreen were sent home this morning after an incident at the school.

Parents of pupils received test messages around half past eight this morning advising them that the school was closing “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

Gardai were called to the premises and an investigation is taking place.
St Nathy’s College has an enrolment of over 600 teenagers from Roscommon, Mayo and Sligo.

Parents were asked to collect pupils if possible, but it’s understood that due to the timing of the incident many pupils were left without an immediate way home.
