A public meeting is to be held tonight in Paddy Finns bar in Kilteevan to discuss the issue of rural transport.
The meeting’s being organised by what’s described as “concerned members from different communities across rural Ireland.”
The organisers say people need to get together and make themselves aware of what the law is for community transport in rural areas.
They say insurance companies have put policies in place for community cars, and the gardai and the Road Safety Authority are supporting the scheme.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 8 o’ clock and will be chaired by Independent TD for Roscommon Galway Michael Fitzmaurice.
