A meeting to discuss the possibility of developing a community CCTV system in Ballaghaderreen is taking place this evening.
It’s understood that a proposal to develop a similar system to one recently operational in Roscommon town is to be forwarded to the department of Justice for funding approval and then funding.
Concern has been expressed over a lack of CCTV in the busy West Roscommon town as an aid for both crime prevention and detection.
The meeting takes place tonight at 7.30 tonight in the Men’s Shed in the town and all community activists and members of the public are being asked to attend.
