PODCAST: Local knackeries close after dispute with Department of Agriculture

The Animal Collectors’ Association has been forced to announce the closure of up to 40 knackeries across the country.

Those working in the animal collection service are calling on the government to increase funding to their industry.

The ACA says talks broke down with the Department of Agriculture last night on the issue.

Collection services in the region include Mc Guinness in Moistrim, Greene’s of Ahascragh and O Rourke’s which serve county Leitrim.
