Planning permission sought for €5m Monksland housing development

Planning permission is sought for a €5-million housing development in Monksland in south Roscommon.

A company called Bobmar is asking Roscommon County Council for the go-ahead to build 27 residential units on a 2.4-acre site at the old Tuam Road.

The proposed development comprises two-storey three-bedroom houses, some of which would be semi-detached and others are terrace properties.

The council is due to make a decision on the application by August 3rd, with submissions from the public invited before July 13th.

Local Fine Gael councillor John Naughten welcomes the news and says there’s a big shortage of housing in the Monksland area.
