Planning permission has been officially lodged with Roscommon County Council for a multi-million euro solar farm in the south of the county.
The project would involve solar panels being installed across just over 160 acres of land in the Taduff West, Taduff East, and Creagh and Curraghalee townlands in the Drum area.
The developers maintain that 30 jobs would be created during the construction phase of the project and that the farm would generate enough power for up to 10,000 households.
It’s estimated the solar farm would take six months to complete.
A decision is due from Roscommon County Council at the end of March.
Members of the public can make submission or objections about the project during the next four weeks.
