Opponents of Ballinasloe waste facility call on local TDs for more support

The group strongly opposing the waste-transfer facility in Ballinasloe is calling on local TDs to do more to ensure it is refused permission.

Barna Waste’s controversial plant has already been granted planning permission by Galway County Council, but requires a special permit before it can begin operation.

More than 200 objections have been lodged against this to the local authority, which is set to make a decision in about a month’s time.

The chairman of the Ballinasloe Says No group, Dr Vincent Parsons, is calling on Roscommon-Galway Oireachtas members to step up their efforts in the campaign against it.
