Naughten blasts FF leader’s criticism of broadband plan

Former Communications Minister Denis Naughten believes Micheál Martin’s criticism of the National Broadband Plan is hypocritical.

The Fianna Fáil leader says he would abandon the €3-billion plan and introduce high-speed broadband through the ESB instead.

He also promised that if his party came to power before the contract with the government’s proferred bidder was signed, it would not go ahead with the deal.

But Deputy Naughten, a Roscommon-Galway TD, claims Deputy Martin is ‘playing politics’ with the issue.
