The planning process has begun for the €6-million hospice planned for Roscommon town.
In a notice published today, Mayo Roscommon Hospice confirms it’s applying for permission for the eight-bedded centre on a site beside Hannon’s hotel in the Athlone Road. It’ll also include offices, a café, restaurant and family visitor’s suite, landscaped gardens and 31 car-parking spaces.
The facility, which will open in 2021, will accommodate those who require palliative care. Local Fianna Fáil TD Eugene Murphy is delighted with the progress being made.
