Roscommon County Council is investigating reports of dumping of mattresses and washing machines.
It has received several reports of abandoned cars.
Details released under the Freedom of Information Act show the council received a total of 73 environmental complaints last month – 58 of which related to litter.
There were two complaints of dumping of mattresses – one at Ballyleague and one near Roscommon town.
In Castlerea, a resident claimed a washing machine was among the items illegally discarded in the countryside.
There were two complaints of dumping of large quantities of waste behind a house in Ballaghaderreen.
The council was also notified of three abandoned cars throughout the county, along with rubbish and a van dumped at Kiltoom and a car seat discarded in Castlerea.
It was alleged rubbish was causing rats in Boyle.
Other complaints relate to the burning of waste, unauthorised signage, ashes at bottlebanks and septic tank waste harming the countryside in south Roscommon.
