Two schools from the Shannonside region are presenting their energy saving ‘One Good Idea’ at the SEAI national finals.
Students from Scoil Mhuire in Leitrim have made it through to junior finals of the competition.
Five girls from third to sixth classes of Rahara national School, described as the ‘Electro Girls’ composed and designed a children’s book which highlights energy awareness. Scoil Mhuire in Leitrim are also in the junior finals of the competition.
The girls hope their project will encourage students to walk, cycle or carpool to school.
MaryClaire Grealy spoke to the team, 3rd class students Caoimhe Donnelly, Emma Donnelly, Blathin Moran and 6th class students Lorraine Moran and Chloe Kenny. She first spoke to Lorraine about when the school first became involved in the competition.
