Irish Water completes work on € 2 million upgrade of Monksland wastewater treatment plant

Irish Water has completed work on a € 2million upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant in Monksland.

The works, which had been ongoing for the last number of months consisted of upgrades to inlet works, screens, grit removal and overflow chamber .

It’s hoped the upgrade will also result in a notable difference to the treated wastewater which is returned to the nearby Cross River as well as assisting in any anticipated growth in population in the south Roscommon area.
