Ireland West Airport receives €5.7m funding boost

Over five million euro has been approved for a major capital investment in Ireland West Airport.

€5.7m has been approved from the Department of Transport for works at the airport, including a major upgrade on the 2,400 metre runway.

Roscommon County Council and Leitrim County Council are both shareholders in the airport which first opened in 1986.


Work on fire safety systems, as well baggage handling and airport service vehicles are also set to form part of the significant investment.
