It's hoped that the new EU traffic light system for travel will bring increased numbers to one of the Shannonside Northern Sounds region's local airports.
With flights just to the UK and Faro in Portugal operating at the moment out of Ireland West Airport at Knock, it is not affected by the new green list of countries announced yesterday.
There are just seven countries on the list where you don't have to quarantine when you return, including Poland and Germany.
However from Monday, the advice of no non-essential travel will be changing to offer more freedom of movement, ahead of the EU system taking effect on October 13th.
While the details are not fully agreed yet, Communications Officer with Ireland West Airport at Knock Donal Healy says explains what they may look like.
