There was no success in an intensive search in Strokestown today for a local resident who has been missing for a month.
At the request of gardaí, 30 members of Roscommon Civil Defence searched the area today, including areas around Strokestown Park House, the woods beside the nearby golf course, along with water-treatment plants and wells.
Drones were also used, but no trace of Lithuania native Tomas Martinkus could be found and the one-day search has now concluded.
The 28-year-old had been living in the the northeast Roscommon town for two years, but he hasn’t been seen since he was in his home at 20 Forge Hill at 5am on December 19th.
Gardai are not treating his disappearance as suspicious – they say it’s a missing-person investigation and they will reassess the situation after today’s unsuccessful effort.
