Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten says he's deeply disappointed the Western Region Enterprise Committee failed to specifically consider the pending job losses at Aptar in Ballinasloe at two meetings since concerns were first raised in June.
The Independent TD says he asked Tanaiste Leo Varadkar to bring together the State agencies and the two local authorities in Galway and Roscommon to co-ordinate a strategy after the company's announcement in June that they were carrying out a review of operations at their Ballinasloe site.
Deputy Naughten says Leo Varadkar told the Dail on July 14th that he was asking the Western Region Committee to consider all scenarios in relation to the company.
He believes the issue wasn't discussed at the meeting of the Committee on July 31st, and there was no clear indication it was on the agenda for a meeting that was held in recent days either.
