HSE accused of failing parents and families in Roscommon audiology controversy

A medical negligence expert has said a review of audiology services in Roscommon and Mayo appears to show that the HSE has once again failed in its duty to parents and their families.

Solicitor Roger Murray who’s head of the medical negligence team at Callan Tansey Solicitors says that the company has already taken calls today from parents who have heard a news story on RTE about failings in the audiology service in Roscommon and Mayo from 2011 to 2015.

RTE is reporting that the HSE is to apologise to almost 50 families in the west of Ireland for serious failing in the audiology services provided to their children during those years.

It’s understood that some children have been left with lifelong impairments.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show today, solicitor Roger Murray says parents will now be unfairly blaming themselves for something which they had no control over.
