The weather station at Mount Dillon in Roscommon is one of two in the country which is recording the highest temperature of 26 degrees this afternoon.
The Roscommon station shares the highest figure with Newport in Mayo which also recorded 26 degrees today.
Mullingar and Claremorris recorded the second highest temperature of 25 degrees.
The high temperature inland contrast with 16 degrees at Malin Head, 19 degrees in Cork, and 20 in Dublin.
The high temperatures are set to continue with Met Eireann saying there’ll be warm and mostly dry weather for the rest of this week, through the Bank Holiday weekend , and current indications are that it will remain mostly if not completely dry until the end of next week.
