The health watchdog has praised the standard of care in two nursing homes in County Roscommon.
Speaking to inspectors, residents of the private facilities in Boyle and Ballyleague were very complimentary of the staff and facilities.
In May, the Health Information and Quality Authority – Hiqa – carried out an unannounced inspection of Innis Ree Lodge, which provides care for 56 residents who require long-term, respite, convalescent and dementia care.
Residents told inspectors they were well looked after and happy with the care provided, with the quality of food and staff complimented.
Thirteen of the 15 areas analysed by Hiqa were found to be compliant, with two areas found to be substantially so.
The regulator carried out an announced inspection of Abbey Haven Care Centre and Nursing Home in Boyle, which caters for 62 residents.
Residents said they were very happy living in the centre and that they enjoyed the comfort of their spacious rooms and surroundings.
A total of 25 of the 26 areas analysed were found to be compliant.
