Granard burial grounds and Tidy Towns will benefit from 15% property tax, says councillor

Burial grounds and Tidy Towns in Granard will benefit from the retention of the 15% property tax, according to a local councillor.

Funding allocation for the coming year was decided at a Granard Municipal District meeting yesterday, where the budget for 2020 was finalised.

The decision to retain the 15% property tax rate was made at last month’s meeting of Longford County Council, which will reportedly provide more money for improvement works and projects in the region.

Overall, there has been a 17% increase in Granard’s overall budget since last year thanks to the new tax rate, with a rise of €29,000 euro to €130,000.
