The government has advertised a tender for work to be carried out for the new secondary school planned for Athlone; Coláiste Chiaráin
The secondary school, which is due to open in September will be an amalgamation of St Joseph’s College in Summerhill and St Aloysius’s College in Athlone.
The tender seeks contractors who can provide for the rental and erection of demountable prefabs comprising of 14 classrooms, as well as two technology rooms, toilets and a social area as well as other ancillary works.
A fixed price for the works will also need to be submitted by any potential contractor and the tender deadline is the 12th of May.
An application for planning permission for the 1400metre square area was lodged by the Board of Management of the school in March with Roscommon county council, and a decision is due in the coming weeks.
