Gerry Coffey ratified as Fine Gael Roscommon candidate at uncontested convention

Granlahan’s Gerry Coffey has been ratified as a Fine Gael local elections candidate for the Roscommon Municipal District.

The party held its selection convention in Gleeson’s Restaurant and Rooms in Roscommon town last night.

It was chaired by Gerry Reynolds, the party’s Sligo-Leitrim general election candidate.

Mr Coffey, who’s an auctioneer and community activist, was the only person nominated, with sitting councillor Michael Creaton bowing out in May.
