Funding has been approved to provide two new classrooms at Tibohine National School in Roscommon and at St Josephs in Glenamaddy.
The units are needed at both schools to allow teachers to work with children who need extra help.
It’s expected the building projects for the classrooms will go to tender in the next few weeks and it’s hoped they can be built within months.
The news has been welcomed by Deputies Denis Naughten and Senators Maura Hopkins and Frank Feighan.
