Fianna Fáil can get two seats in Roscommon-Galway, says Cllr Leyden

Roscommon Galway Fianna Fail candidate Orla Leyden says she believes the party can get two seats in the upcoming general election.

The Roscommon Cllr was added to the ticket yesterday after a personal call from Michael Martin on Friday night.

Ms Leyden who had previously stated she would not run for family reasons, says she has now been encouraged by her daughter and husband to go forward.

There’s some concern within the party on the ground that given the close proximity to sitting TD Eugene Murphy, who is based in Scramogue, just 16kms away, both candidates are too close together.
