Just over €800,000 has been announced in CLÁR Funding for the Shannonside counties of Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford.
Leitrim is the biggest beneficiary this time out with a total of €374,000 in grant aid, while Roscommon is to get €289,000, and Longford will receive €155,000.
Some of the projects getting the biggest amounts in Roscommon are Keadue Sports Field which will get €50,000 for a multi-purpose games area, Kilteevan Community Park is also to get €50,000 for a community space, park and playground.
Ballaghadereen GAA club has also been awarded €30,000 for car-parking and a facility for the air-ambulance.
In Longford, €45,000 is being allocated to Newtownsforbes Tidy Towns to build access footpaths next to community facilities, while Ballymahon Tidy Towns is getting €25,000 for improvements to the water sports and club area.
There are no details available to so far this lunchtime on the individual projects in Co Leitrim.
The funding has bene welcomed today by Roscommon TD and Minister Denis Naughten, as well as Senators Frank Feighan and Maura Hopkins.
