One of the longest established hotels and bars in the Shannonside region has confirmed it will not be re-opening after the lockdown.
Durkins in Ballaghaderreen has been open for 48 years, and been based for over four decades in the centre of the west Roscommon town.
The family run business confirmed last night that having closed on March 16th, it will not be re-opening later this month.
They thanked their customers for their support and claimed that two of their biggest highlights were when the Gay Byrne radio show was presented live from the premises as well as the hosting of a cabinet meeting in January 2000; the first outside of the capital.
