Donegal man to reappear in court in connection with Falsk farmhouse fracas

A Donegal man is due back in court today in connection with an alleged incident outside Strokestown last December.

PJ Sweeney is one of three men who have been charged in connection with events at a farmhouse in Falsk last year. The 54-year-old was previously charged with violent disorder following a series of alleged incidents which occurred just days after an eviction at the property.

A peremptory application was granted against the state by Judge Deirdre Geraghty in July after defence counsel raised concern about delays in the case and how the case was being handled by the DPP. The matter was adjourned until this morning’s sitting of Castlerea District Court when the accused is due back in court.
