Different dynamic in webcast council meetings

A Roscommon councillor has accepted she was more conscious of herself at the first ever meeting of the local authority that was shown on the web yesterday.

Roscommon County Council spent €11,000 on installing equipment to enable its meetings to be webcast.

A company called Public-i stream the proceedings live and all future meetings will also be available on the council’s website.

Independent councillor Kathleen Shanagher admits the dynamic is different in the council chamber with the cameras glaring on them.
