Denis Naughten reveals final tender for National Broadband Plan received today

Minister for Communications Denis Naughten has confirmed that the final tender for the National Broadband Plan was submitted today.

Answering questions in the Dail, the Roscommon/Galway deputy described it as ‘a landmark date.’

The Minister said the final stage of the procurement process has been reached with an evaluation process of the sole bid by Enet now set to begin.

He added that there would be a team of 80 people examining the bid which it’s hoped will supply high speed broadband to 540,000 homes and businesses throughout the country.
