Demolition work has begun on the historic Royal Hotel in Boyle.
Two years ago, Roscommon County Council purchased the 200-year-old building for €100,000.
The council is knocking the side and rear of the building, while the original structure to the front will be retained.
It’ll become an enterprise centre and exhibition space.
Construction work has now begun, and former Boyle mayor Jane Suffin welcomes the news.
