Communications Minister wants Broadband Plan to avoid previous tech mistakes

The Minister for Communications does not want the government to repeat past mistakes when it comes to rolling out broadband across the country.

Denis Naughten was in Ballinasloe this afternoon to launch a new fibre broadband plan which will be available to Roscommon and the east Galway town, as well as several others across the north-west between now and 2019.

Deputy Eugene Murphy today welcomed the news of the roll out of the new Enet-SSE service, but claimed frustration at the slow pace of getting broadband to more rural areas was growing.
