Chamber President decides against running in Roscommon-Galway convention

The president of Roscommon Chamber of Commerce has pulled out of Fianna Fáil’s forthcoming Roscommon-Galway selection convention.

Last month Seán Mahon was strongly considering vying for a Dáil seat against confirmed candidates Councillors John Keogh, Michael Connolly and Orla Leyden and Deputy Eugene Murphy.

A date for the convention hasn’t been set, but there’s a strong possibility it’ll take place before Christmas.

Mr Mahon, a solicitor in Roscommon town, has now ruled himself out, for work and family reasons.
