The Chair of Knockcroghery Tidy Towns says it’s important for the group to be included in this year’s competition albeit in a belated capacity.
It was revealed yesterday that six towns, including Ballinamuck in Longford, were all left out of this year’s Tidy Towns Competition.
A technical glitch was blamed, with groups confirming that they had submitted applications but the Department saying they had not received them.
It’s emerged now that Knockcroghery’s entry was also not received.
All seven towns will now receive a judge’s visit, with a report to be issued in the coming weeks
Chair of Knockcrogery Tidy Towns, Cyril Fuery says it’s important to recognise the effort of volunteers as well as for them to continue an unbroken engagement with the competition.
