Castlerea water supply under serious pressure

Residents in Castlerea and west Roscommon are being urged to conserve water.

With minimal rainfall over the last number of weeks, the local reservoir is now at a critically low level.

While a national hosepipe ban may be coming into effect nationally, restrictions may be introduced to maintain day time supplies in some parts of west Roscommon.

Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council and Castlerea Councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is appealing to people to keep use to a minimum.
