Castlerea councillor slams IDA

A Castlerea councillor is slamming the IDA for its failure to invest more in the area.

Fianna Fáil’s Paschal Fitzmaurice is behind the food hub, called An Chistin, that’s being developed in the west Roscommon town.

However, he notes the €500,000-project is being backed by Roscommon County Council, and not the IDA, who he feels have neglected the area.

He claims the authority is now focused solely on county towns like Carrick-on-Shannon and Roscommon town, with other large urbans areas being ignored.
