Local businesses have welcomed the news that permission has been granted to improve facilities at Dr. Hyde Park in Roscommon town.
The planning permission, which is subject to five conditions, will see a number of changes to the county grounds, including an extension to the existing dressing rooms, the construction of new toilet blocks, new catering and corporate function building, new turnstiles and a entrance gates. Other improvements include an upgrade of the underground existing water system, security fencing and the site will receive a tarmac finish.
Roscommon County Board Hugh Lynn has welcomed the news and looks forward to the construction beginning in the near future, with the aim that the works will be complete by June 2020.
Local businessman and former county player Seamus Hayden, says that the improved grounds will give Roscommon businesses a boost as the venue will attract more games.
