The brother of Detective Garda Colm Horkan has thanked the people of Roscommon and beyond for the support shown to them since his death last month.
Dermot Horkan, his father as well as brothers Aidan and Padraig were among a crowd of up to 200 people who attended a memorial service to mark forty years since the deaths of Garda Henry Byrne and Detective Garda John Morley in 1980.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris described as three men as the epitome of what it means to be a member of An Garda Siochana and urged everyone to never forget their sacrifice in the line of duty.

Dermot said it was very special for his family to be included on such an emotional day for two other bereaved families.
