Boost for services at Roscommon University Hospital as new x-ray suite opens

A new improved x-ray suite has been opened at Roscommon University hospital.

The refurbishment of the existing X-ray rooms as well as the development of new digital imaging technology cost almost half-a-million euro.

It’s hoped that the new technology will allow for cleared images to be analysed by doctors and consultants, with one machine dedicated specifically for dental x-drays and another machine with capability to be used on people with mobility issues.

Approximately 1200 x-rays are carried out in the hospital every month and Ann-Marie Healy, Radiography services manager at the hospital, told Shannonside FM it’s a huge boost to their services:
