Boil water notice lifted for Williamstown scheme

The Boil Water Notice for the area supplied by the Williamstown Public Water Supply on the Roscommon Galway border has been lifted this afternoon.

The Boil Water Notice was put in place as a precautionary measure after very heavy rainfall in the area caused the water treatment plant to come under pressure, and resulted in the water having a lower than required level of UV protection.

The plant has been closely monitored over the past week, and the HSE has today advised Irish Water that the boil water notice can now be lifted.
