An Athlone women is calling for the public to get behind her campaign to amend the current disability logo to take into account of invisible disabilities.
Maeve Kelly was involved in a crash just outside Roscommon town three years ago in which she shattered her right leg, fractured left leg and back, brike her neck and several ribs.
She also suffered a traumatic brain injury.
She now has a metal plate through her right leg and has ongoing issues with muscular problems, her nervous system and the effects of brain injuries.
Maeve says while she displays a disability sticker on her car, she is often criticised for parking in disabled spaces.
She’s calling for the public to be more aware of people like her and others with hidden disabilities in public areas and says that a change in the disabled logo is one way of opening up people’s minds.
