Athlone and Roscommon motorists face longest wait times for driving tests locally

Motorists in Athlone and Roscommon face some of the longest times to be able to take a driving test in the country.

Figures released to Roscommon-Galway TD Eugene Murphy reveal that the average waiting time as of the first week in August in Athlone was 17 weeks, while in Roscommon it 16.8 weeks.

The average waiting time in Longford is only marginally better at 15 weeks, while learner drivers looking to remove their L-plates for good wait an average of 13.4 weeks to show off their three-point-turn in a test.
