Roscommon County Council spent almost €20,000 in litter pollution management costs in March and April of this year.
According to information released to Shannonside FM, a total of 162 environmental complaints were made to the council in the two-month period.
Roscommon County Council received a total of 65 environmental complaints in March - with the majority about litter - including twenty incidents of illegal dumping as well as a report of a three piece suite of furniture dumped in the Roscommon M.D and a report of illegal spreading of slurry in early March in the Athlone.M.D.
A total of 97 complaints were made in April - including an incident of a dead sheep in Ballymacurley, and a dead lamb in the Rahara/Athleague area.
30 bags were reported dumped in Cloonglasney More in Strokestown as well as several complaints of dumping at bottle banks across the county.
Overall a total of 43 waste complaints were made in April and 49 litter issues reported to the Council in the same month, compared to 51 litter complaints in March and seven of waste.
The Council also confirmed that litter pollution management costs for March and April totalled €19,652.02.
