The Acting Chief Medical Officer says they are watching closely the rate of increase in Covid 19 in Roscommon. Dr Ronan Glynn has raised concerns

The Acting Chief Medical Officer says they are watching closely the rate of increase in Covid 19 in Roscommon.

Dr Ronan Glynn has raised concerns over "fast increasing" trends of coronavirus in a number of counties including Roscommon.

There were seven new cases of Covid 19 reported in the county last night bringing the overall total in the county now to 430.

Six new cases were reported in Longford.

While the 14-day incidence rate for Roscommon is in line with national average at 84 cases per 100,000 people, cases have risen by 123% - a sharp and continuing increase.

Dr Ronan Glynn has included Roscommon among a number of counties they are watching closely.
