More than 320 motorists in the Shannonside region have been disqualified from driving this year.
Details released under the Freedom of Information Act also show that 140 local drivers received penalty points for having no car insurance.
Details released under the Freedom of Information Act show that in the first ten months of this year, 321 Shannonside drivers were disqualified from driving – 160 in Longford, 105 in Roscommon and 56 in Leitrim.
A total of 1,794 motorists in Roscommon were issued with penalty points, including 1,011 for speeding, 57 for no insurance and 347 for holding a mobile phone while driving.
The next highest of the three local counties was Longford, at 1,554 drivers receiving points, including 66 motorists penalised for using a vehicle without an NCT certificate, 28 for a learner driver not being accompanied by a qualified motorist and seven for careless driving.
A total of 819 motorists received penalty points in Leitrim during that period, including five for drink-driving, 23 for driving without reasonable consideration and 56 for an adult driving without a seatbelt.]
